RICKY RICHBURG (he, him, his)

Intervention Specialist

Ricky Robert Richburg Jr. is a Pittsburgh native, born and raised. A former PPS student himself, Ricky attended Westinghouse High School (Class of ‘98) and furthered his education on a full basketball scholarship at Robert Morris University. There he studied and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.

After obtaining his degree, Ricky moved to various places (North Carolina, Georgia, and California) where he engaged in social services work for nearly 18 years. In the field, he has held positions such as Wraparound Facilitator, Child & Family Specialist, SA Counselor, Group Home manager, and Gang Prevention specialist, just to name a few. Ricky returned to Pittsburgh in January 2022 to give back, assist, and support Pittsburgh youth who hail from the same communities in which he grew up. His mission is to educate and inform young people that there is more to life and the world beyond Pittsburgh, and that if he can make it and prosper in different cities/states, they can too.

In his role as an Intervention Specialist at YES, Ricky offers young people knowledge, life lessons, encouragement, and advice as they navigate their daily stressors, questions, goals, and aspirations.
