DR. WALKER MICHAELS (he/him/his)

Diversion and Restorative Services Coordinator

Dr. Walker Michaels graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2022, earning his MD and MPH. Upon graduation Dr. Michaels elected to forgo applying for the residency match, instead striving to impact health and wellness on a more upstream basis than clinical medicine permits. He subsequently taught pathophysiology courses at Portland State University before transitioning to the role of Violence Prevention Coordinator and Diversion Specialist with Youth Enrichment Services, where he provides case management and mentorship to teens at risk of becoming involved with the justice system, or interested in creating a positive impact in their communities. His primary focuses include healthcare and education equity, mental health, and addressing the impacts of wealth disparity.
