Summer Work for Success
Summer Work for Success (SWFS) is constructed to teach and to enhance youth employability and workability skills through a variety of workshops and activities.
Students engage in a series of sessions to explore careers, to develop interpersonal skills—responsibility, sociability, self-management— and to discuss integrity, honesty, decision making, technology, interview and dining etiquette, and employee protocol in the workplace.
SWFS workshops’ auxiliary goal is to provide students with an understanding of work documentation and to prepare students to develop resumes and cover letters— to synthesize their current experiences and to navigate the application and interview processes.
Students will enhance employ-ability skills through workshops and activities by learning to navigate the application and interview process. Students will create work permits, resumes, cover letters and attend interviews. They will also improve knowledge of business, dining and technology etiquette.
